Backend dev · New England / remote

I build the
boring parts
properly.

Bots, APIs, scrapers, automation, CLI tools. I scope it, build it, and leave you notes so it is not a black box after I go. Stuff that still works after the demo.

What I take on

Usual jobs. Discord bots are the main one, the rest pays the same.

Discord bots

Slash commands, mod tools, persistence. The dashboard holds up when the server is on fire.

APIs

Auth, rate limiting, validation. Errors that say what actually broke.

Scrapers

They back off when they should, so the target does not notice and you do not get blocked.

Automation

Cron jobs and glue between services. The alert reaches you before the client does.

Pipelines

ETL and exports you can still read six months later.

CLI and internals

Terminal tools and little scanners. Stuff I end up using every day.

The lab

Two things you can actually poke at. Both run in your browser, nothing is calling home.

running live

This is the shape of every scraper and bot I ship: rate limit it, queue it, pool the workers, retry with backoff, break the circuit when the far end dies. Drag the sliders and try to knock it over.
